THE LATE SHIFT, a Short Horror Film starring Bill Oberst Jr., Begins Funding

Chicago, IL, 10/04/2018 – THE LATE SHIFT will begin production in November. Currently set to star in the film is veteran horror actor Bill Oberst Jr., as well as Breanna Mayberry, Jessica Tomasko, and Bob Romay. The film’s director, Joshua Brucker, aims to raise funds for the production over the next month and a half, using the popular crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.

“It’s truly an honor to work with such talented actors,” Brucker said. “I’ve gotten to know many of them personally over the past few months, and I’m quite confident in their abilities. Bill Oberst Jr. is a legend in the business and I’m incredibly excited to watch his character come to life. All actors involved will complement the story quite well.”

THE LATE SHIFT follows Beth, a night-shift nurse tasked with babysitting a quiet hospital wing. All is well until a mysterious patient is brought it, exhibiting a high fever and suffering terrible wounds. Though his condition stabilizes, Beth is new to the night shift and she eventually closes her heavy eyes and drifts asleep. When she wakes, however, not all is as calm and safe as it once was. With the full moon high in the night sky, her new patient, she finds, harbors a dangerous and deadly secret that could cost Beth her life.

“It’s a small, contained tale but filled with tremendous tension and mystery,” Brucker said of the story. “I’ve been a fan of horror my entire life. The plot of THE LATE SHIFT has been something I’ve been working on for some time, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to bring the story to life.”

The cast and crew are set and production begins in November in Chicago, Illinois, once the crowdfunding campaign is successful. Contributors of the Indiegogo campaign can expect perks such as access to view the film before the festival run, official posters, production stills, film t-shirts, official film props, as well as the opportunity to spend a few days on-set.

The campaign launched on October 4th and is expected to run until the film is funded.

“Filmmaking has always been a passion of mine,” Brucker finished. “I aim to bring to the audience a film that stands out among the rest, doing the story justice and frightening viewers in the same way horror of the 80’s and 90’s frightened me. I want to give them something they can really sink their teeth into.”
